Over the past financial year, Greens Decorating Contractors have invested in the addition of ten new vans to our ever-expanding fleet of commercial vehicles.

This significant investment has been made in order to make our fleet more environmentally efficient in a bid to reduce annual fuel costs by over a third.

Greens have purchased five new Fiat Doblo Cargo Maxi vehicles, which offer economy of over 60 mpg with class leading emissions. The vehicles, supplied by Northern Commercials, have been fitted with rear seat conversions to ensure that we are able to transport our operatives both cost effectively and safely.

Greens have also added five larger vehicles including Ford Transits and the new Vauxhall Movano. Three of the vehicles are fitted with crew cab conversions offering spacious site transport for six operatives. For larger contracts, this means that we are able reduce the number of vehicles required on site with obvious cost savings for you, the customer.

In our commitment to health and safety and the best working conditions for our operatives, Greens have also added a welfare vehicle to the fleet. Offering toilet facilities as well as a comfortable mess area with microwave, water boiler and wash facilities, this vehicle ensures that we can comply with all relevant legislation with minimal disruption to customers at the most competitive price.

Pictured is one of our crew cab vehicles (left) offering transport for six operatives and our new welfare vehicle (right). All of our vehicles are GPS live tracked at our office to ensure that customers can be updated with the current location of all our operatives.

Following the successful completion of work at Connaught Court, an RMBI care home in York, Greens were delighted to receive a letter of thanks from the Home Manager, reaffirming the commitment of our team to providing a first class service.

She writes, “As a very large care home we constantly have tradesmen coming and going, sometimes with a great deal of thoughtless disruption to our residents.

Alan and Dean on the other hand are a real credit to your business, they are firm favourites with both residents and staff, they have caused us such minimal disruption we hardly know they are there, they are unfailingly polite, cheerful and respectful to our residents and their work is of the highest standard.

We are all delighted with the service we have received from them and I felt I had to write to congratulate you for having two such excellent workers on your payroll and to thank you for a job very well done.

They are at present working within our Dementia care unit and again treating these very vulnerable people with respect and kindness, please convey our heartfelt thanks to them both and rest assured we will certainly be using Greens again if we can expect work of this standard.”

This month, Efficiency North, a consortium of social housing landlords has named a huge line up of mainly trade contractors for their housing improvement and maintenance programmes.

Greens Decorating Contractors were among the 98 firms appointed to share in the £1 billion scheme across the North of England. Greens has been approved for decorating contracts in excess of £100k for the west sub-region, a framework with a value exceeding £325m.

Lee Parkinson, director of Efficiency North, said: “We are delighted to have achieved such a diverse offer in the framework, with a mix of larger national players as well as smaller local businesses.”

“All the successful contractors demonstrated in their tender submissions that the improved certainty of time, quality and cost the Elemental Works Framework aims to establish will be delivered.”

The 98 successful firms were chosen from more than 740 contractors who expressed an interest in the scheme, which is expected to deliver annual expenditure and process efficiency savings of 10%.

A full list of approved contractors can be found on the Efficiency North website:
